Driving Permit Attained!

Yes! I finally got my military driving permit! Haha ~

The past week was actually the last week of my class 3 driving course. Monday was my second attempt at the driving test. I managed to pass with 8 demerit points! I expected lower though Haha cos some of the points the tester picked out, I knew I did it during the test. Oh well... As long as I pass the test, that's all that counts Haha =D

On Tuesday and Wednesday, I could participate in the transport operations module of the course with a happy heart having passed the test =P Over the 2 days, we did cross country track driving, camouflage the vehicle, water fording and night convoy movement. All quite fun to do Haha because I don have to worry about any other vehicles like on public roads. The cross country riding was very bumpy, like a roller coaster going uphill and downhill. Water fording was also an experience, driving through flood water of 0.6 metres in depth. Night convoy movement was just normal driving, but with night vision goggles! I think I'll most likely be doing that only once in my NS life. The next few days was spent on Island Wide confidence driving, where i'm supposed to clock 200km. Got to experience what it's like to travel on the expressway, and try out the auto jeep as well. Having learnt how to operate a manual vehicle, auto transmission is like a walk in the park... So easy! Haha. But on the expressway, it gets kinda boring cos military vehicles like the jeep has a vehicle speed limit of 50 km/h. I was like a slow hog on the expressway, watching other cars zoom past me and overtaking me. Even buses and dumptrucks and other heavy vehicles are able to overtake me! Haha.

On the last day of the course, we were all presented with a certificate of achievement for completing the course. And of course, the authorised driving permit we've all been waiting for =) Yay... But I find it weird that the driving permit is a slip of paper -_- They didn't even make it card size such that I can neatly insert it into my wallet lol. I went to laminate it today anyway. Yeap I wanna thank God for seeing me through the past one month in the driving course!

In the middle of the week, I also received my certificate from ABRSM at last! True enough, I really got 100 marks. My teacher constance, her name was also on the cert... She must be overwhelmed by such results Haha. Now with grade 5 theory of music passed, I have the ticket to register for violin grade 6 and above. I'm not sure still when I should pursue my next violin exam... NS is not really a good time to do that. At least I'll have to wait till next year... maybe i'll be more free then. If my driving mileage isn't progressing fast enough to clock 7000km, I think I'll also learn driving from outside next year as well Haha. This year has just too many things already. For the next one month, I'll have conditioning training back in camp at bukit panjang. After that, it will be another month of scout training at pasir laba camp. Then I'll be flying off to Taiwan in August for overseas training. After coming back for a week or two, I'll be off again to Brunei -_- It's gonna be a rough ride for me subsequently Haha. I must endure and press on through the challenges faced =)

With the end of the driving course, my stay-out period has come to an end. I'll have to stay in back in camp week after week as usual once again. But I'll be meeting new commanders, new bunk mates cos I'll be in a new company. I hope to be able to build strong friendship with my new buddies next week on during training. More importantly, I wanna continue to draw closer to Jesus every day in camp =)

5 months down... 1 year 5 months left to go. Looking forward to an exciting Nslife ahead... Haha
